You had a good start, but I would list it by city/location:
1. Washington, D.C. - Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson & Viet Nam Memorials; The Capitol, The White House & Mt. Vernon close by.
2. Orlando- Disney World, Sea World & Universal
3. New York City - The Empire State Bldg., The Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Grand Central Station, Yankee Stadium
4. Boston - Walk the Liberty Trail, Old Ironsides, Bunker Hill, Fenway Park
5. The Four Corners- (where Colorado, NM, AZ & Utah touch) Cortez and the Pebluo Indian Ruins; Durango and the train to Silverton; Pagosa Springs for scenery beyond belief.
6. Yellowstone National Park- speaks for itself
7. Daytona Beach - for the beach, but also the Daytona 500 NASCAR Race…everyone should see it at least once, and St. Augustine is close-by.
8. New Orleans- for the food & music, great tours with lots of history
9. Los Angeles - the all the local beaches; Universal; Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm…too many sights to list.
10. The Grand Canyon - again, it speaks for itself

I’ll just add on. Everyone has great answers so far.
I would say the St. Louis Arch, as well as the City Museum there and also Grant’s Farm, some sort of Six Flags, Yosemite Nat’l Park, Moab Nat’l Monument and Kalob Canyons, both in Utah. Space Neddle in Seattle.
